Following Bea Alonzo’s Instagram post addressing the breakup issue, Julia Barretto also cleared her relationship status with Gerald Anderson on August 22.
A month after the Gerald-Bea breakup rumored to be caused by her, Barretto clarified her ties with her “Between Maybes” co-star Anderson in an interview with ABS CBN’s MJ Felipe.
‘Wala akong inahas’
Speaking on the sidelines of a volleyball training, Barretto directly answered the question about the real score between her and Anderson.
“Tapusin na lang natin ‘to. Let’s clear this whole issue, so we can put this whole issue to rest,” Barretto said.
“Hindi ko siya naging boyfriend and hindi ko siya boyfriend ngayon. Therefore, wala akong inagawan ng boyfriend, wala akong inahas, at wala din akong nilandi,” she added.
With this ongoing controversy, Anderson was also rumored to be courting Barretto. However, the actress denied this.
“Hindi ako nililigawan. Naniniwala ako na may tamang panahon at oras para sa mga bagay na ganiyan. Pero nanatili siyang matalik kong kaibigan ngayon,” she said.
Cryptic Post And Ghosting
The issue heated up after Alonzo hinted infidelity in her relationship with Anderson while agreeing to Instagram posts alleging an affair between her fellow Star Magic artists.
Moreover, Alonzo’s cryptic post also garnered attention, where she revealed in an interview later on that Anderson did not accord her a formal breakup and ‘just started not talking to me’ after their three-year relationship.
On Her Breakup With Joshua
Also, Barretto insisted that Anderson was never a reason behind her breakup with Joshua Garcia. It is noted that she and Garcia made an earlier denial about the same rumor in June, just a month before the issue with Alonzo erupted.
Barretto said, “It’s always been our own issues (with Garcia),” and that, “We’re also very young, so we’re still trying to figure out ourselves, our direction in life, what we really want.”
Lastly, when asked where she stands now and intends to go after this issue, Barretto answered, “Like I said, hindi biro ‘yung pinagdadaanan naming lahat. Ayokong i-angkin ‘yung mga nangyayari. Lahat kami, nasasaktan.”
“Wala kaming choice. We just have to respect each other’s pain. Everyone is hurting. Hindi madali ‘yung pinagdadaanan naming tatlo,” she added.
