Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV got the 12th spot in the recent COMELEC’s partial and official result of the election on Thursday night.
Hopeful For The Sweet Spot
Aquino’s supporters are hoping to finally get the 12th spot and probably the only Liberal Party candidate to enter the winning circle. The youth supports Bam Aquino for his free education act.
Thursday night, the young senator garnered 11,001,047 votes which put him to the 12th spot followed by Bong Revilla and JV Ejercito respectively. The result shows a close fight among the three candidates as they were vying for the 12th sweet spot.
The National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) ends the canvassing at 9:33 pm having a total of 129 of 167 Certificate of Canvass (CoCs). The figures provided for Aquino’s votes only shows the 107 of CoCs tallied which covers electronically transmitted results. As of writing, COMELEC’s canvassing is still ongoing. The agency assures the mass to finish the process within the week.
The Winning Circle
Senators Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe head the senatorial race. It is followed by Bong Go, Pia Cayetano, and Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa. Sonny Angara garnered 14,023,811, followed by on a tight race between Lito Lapid and Imee Marcos with a difference of 9,626 votes.
Consistent at the 9th place since Day 1 of canvassing is Francis Tolentino followed by Koko Pimentel and Nancy Binay. Controversial Bong Revilla drops at the 13th spot followed by brothers JV Ejercito and Jinggoy Estrada.
Bam Aquino is known to be the author of Free Tuition Fee Act which sparks debate as researches surfaced online that it was first started by Bongbong Marcos but was declined by PNoy.
Aquino belongs to the opposition group, Otso Diretso and is the lone opposition candidate who stands a chance to enter the Top 12.
