Trillanes Urges Kapa Community To File Impeachment Complaint Against Duterte

Trillanes encourages Kapa Community Ministry International Inc (KAPA) members and leaders to file an impeachment complaint against Duterte for violation of Art. 2, Sec. 6.

Trillanes gets in the way

In a press statement, outgoing senator Trillanes urged Kapa leaders to file a case against incumbent president Duterte for violating their religious freedom. He insists,

“Para sa mga lider at miyembro ng Kapa, mag-file ng kasong impeachment laban kay Duterte for culpable violation of the Constitution (i.e. Art. II, Sec. 6) dahil sa pagbalewala nito sa kanilang religious freedom.”

Ponzi scheme

Trillanes provokes that if Kapa is proven as a registered religious organization in Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), the government has no power over how things work with Kapa community, even if donations are treated as investments. More so, even if its own process resembles like a Ponzi scheme.

He then adds,

Complaints against Kapa

Senator Trillanes reiterates that the government cannot get a hold of Kapa’s case and file syndicated estafa against its leaders if there are no complaints from private individuals. He states that the government should allow the organization for a 30-days work and return the money to its investors.

Palace’s reaction

Meanwhile, Palace answers Trillanes’ scheme-like encouragement to Kapa members. GMA reportedly Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo hits back through a text message.

“Other than saying that the latest ranting of the incorrigible shameless former military renegade is as usual nonsensical and pompous, it is undeserving of a response.”
