With Hello and Water Under the Bridge, the guess is that it is all over now between singer-songwriter Adele and her husband, Simon Konecki.
According to a People report, the Grammy-winning singer Adele filed for divorce from estranged husband Konecki, 45, on Thursday, September 12, in a Los Angeles court.
Decision After Separation
This final decision from Adele comes five months after they announced their separation in April 2019. They have a 6-year-old son named Angelo Adkins.
Now, the couple will likely figure out the custody of their son as well as their post-split finances. According to U.K. reports, there is no signed prenup between the two which would entitle Konecki to as much as half of her (Adele) wealth.
Secret Marriage and Breakup Rumor
Reports about the couple’s split circulated when Adele was spotted out not wearing her wedding ring.
Adele, 31, and Konecki tied the knot in 2016 during a secret marriage ceremony after dating since 2011.
The singer announced her marriage during a concert in Brisbane, Australia, in 2017. Moreover, she thanked him during an award acceptance speech at the Grammy Awards in the same year.
“I was trying to remember how it was I felt at the beginning of the relationship that inspired that record,” Adele said at the time.
“Because as bad as a break-up can be and as bitter and horrible and messy as it can be, that feeling when you first fall for someone is the best feeling on earth, and I am addicted to that feeling. Obviously, I can’t go through with those feelings because I’m married now,” she added.
A source previously told Us Weekly that the couple broke up several months before announcing their plans to divorce.
It quoted: “Their relationship evolved, and they became more like friends than lovers. They realized the romantic love was no longer there. They’re disappointed, but it just didn’t work out.”
