Black Hawk Helicopters At Aerial Drones Mula Sa America, Nasa Pinas Na!

Pormal nang tinanggap ni Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana ang limang S-70i Black Hawk helicopters at apat na ScanEagle unmanned aerial system (UAS).

Noong Wednesday, sa pangunguna ni DND Secretary Lorenzana at ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) chief, Lt. Gen. Allen Paredes idinaos ang maiksing seremonya at blessing ng nasabing mga equipments sa Clark Air Base, Pampanga.

Ayon pa kay Lorenzana na itong mga daddag na equipment ay makikita as “crucial in keeping our communities and people safe from traditional security threats and disasters”.

“With additional four long-endurance, low-altitude ScanEagle unmanned aerial vehicles, our aerial reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities will be enhanced. With five more Black Hawks, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) can now better provide prompt and sustained day and night tactical heli-lift and combat and non-combat search and rescue operations.”

Ayon sa Department of National Defense (DND), ang limang helicopter ay panghuling dumating sa kabuoang labing-anim na helicopter na nanggaling mula sa isang Polish company Polskie Zaklady Lotnicze.

May shortage ba ng aircraft?

Noong tinanong si PAF spokesperson Lt. Col. Maynard Mariano kung meron bang shortage sa aircraft;

“We’re not gonna have a shortage. In fact, marami pa tayong in the pipeline na ating mga project to increase our helicopter lift capability so were looking into medium helicopter lift to heavy lift capability in the future.”

Samantala, ang sampung UH-ID helicopters, kung saan na-acquired noong 2013 to 2014, were also decommissioned.

“The 10 decommissioned UH-1D helicopters had “served its purpose” as interim solutions for the challenges  on relief transportation.”
