Are you a milk tea lover? A person who loves sweetened drink? Are you the person who can’t live without sugar-sweetened beverages? Then maybe it’s the time for you to think again if drinking these beverages are worth it.

According to a study, Sugar is a carbohydrate which will eventually turn into fat in the body. People need sugar because it can provide an immediate burst of energy to our body.

Sugar affects insulin resistance and blood sugar levels which in turn, spike hunger causing you to crave more sugary/carbohydrate foods. This is the reason why many people are overweight or obese.

Men – 150 calories per day (37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons)

Below is a list of some of our favorite drinks and the amount of sugar each one contains.

Milk tea – 102.5 grams of sugar (about 20.5 teaspoons) Depends on the size

Starbucks – Venti (extra large) white chocolate mocha with whipped cream – 73.8 grams of sugar (about 18 teaspoons)

Gatorade – 34 grams of sugar (about 6.8 teaspoons)

Coke –  33 grams of sugar (about 6.6 teaspoons)

Our body needs sugar that gives us energy. When people eat sweets, it gives satisfaction to a person. Sugar has a lot of benefits in our body. But too much of it will eventually cause health problems.

Too much of Sugar can trigger diseases, commonly, type 2 diabetes, Heart problem, and Obesity. So if people want to stay fit and have a healthy body, then you know already what food to avoid or to lessen. Drink moderately.
