A Step Closer

Being an official “Servant of God” is the first step towards being a saint. Before someone is declared as a holy man, it has to go through a long process and not all the candidate successfully received the holy title.

A Wicked Disease

A Filipino street child named Darwin Ramos, who was born in 1994 spent his life being a scavenger just to help his family. At a very young age, he was unfortunately diagnosed to have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare type of disease which makes the muscles becomes weaker.

A group called “Tulay ng Kabataan” lend a hand to Darwin when he was 12 years old. This group is known for helping street children in any way they can. Darwin lived in the group’s shelter and got baptized after a year. He devoted himself to helping other children even though he himself is tied in a wheelchair.

His Uncomparable Faithfulness

Darwin’s life was never easy. He had gone through a lot of hardship until the day he died. Despite everything, he remained faithful and loving to God. According to Maria Canares, coordinator of Tulay ng Kabataan, they never heard complaints from Darwin when he was still living despite all the battles he has gone through.
